When considering Chicago sales training, it may be best to think of it as an investment rather than money being spent. You’re investing in your employees and their skills, which makes them more interested in staying loyal to you, as well as working harder.

Public/Private Options

Primarily, when you consider the costs of sales training in Chicago, you’ll have to determine whether you want private or public options. Programs that are available to the public can be cheaper, but may also be a one-size-fits-all program, which may not be suitable to your team’s needs. While there are many excellent public programs, and they may work well for smaller companies, many would prefer to have their trainings tailored more to their specific needs.

Private programs are designed to work with you and grow with you from day one. As you progress through the program, more things are added until you have the skills required. These can be more expensive, but you’ll get more from them, as long as your salespeople want to learn. Many times, the price depends on how experienced and well-known the teacher is.

Variables

Once you’ve decided whether you want public or private programs, you’ll need to consider the budget, as well as all the variable costs and “hidden” fees. In most cases, trainers aren’t trying to stiff you, but they may not tell you everything up front.

Likewise, you’ll have to determine if the teacher will come to you or if you’re required to get transportation to meet them. This can require more money for hotels, airfare, meals, transportation and more, so it may be best to find someone willing to come to you and provide seminars or online options.
